With an increase in steel production across the world, managing steel slag has become an important source of environmental consideration. In India, many primary and secondary steel manufacturers are grappling with the problem of effective disposal.

India can borrow learning from other countries who have found effective ways to commercially utilize it including recovering heavy metals such as Fe, Ti ,P in an cost-effective way.
